Audi’s A3 Sedan, which is developed for sedan-preferred global markets, looked somewhat like Mitsubishi’s outdated-and-dead Lancer. What a resemblance.

By the way, let’s have a look.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Did you notice the front, especially the headlamps, looked similar? Not the same designer, but the similarly striking resemblance.

Now, look at the rear.

Only the rear license plate placement differers. But notice the rear taillights. Did you see resemblance?

This isn’t end yet.

Holy hell. The Audi S3 Sedan borrows some basic similarities from Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. Inline-4 turbo (300hp of course!), four-wheel drive, and six-speed dual-clutch gearbox (pre-refresh). Both still has basic visual similarities aside from something.

Not many people notice that, but this is why !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Now, Audi RS3 Sedan is something completely different. It may have some design cues borrowed from Mitsubishi Evo X (especially the FQ400), but with one-more-cylinder engine, one-more-gear transmission, the RS3 Sedan is now a totally different monster.

Well, with Mitsubishi Lancer (and its Evolution models) gone to the dead end and digs into the grave, Audi A3 Sedan (and its S3/RS3 models) takes a secret assault on Subaru’s normal Impreza sedans and WRX STI. Either Audi A3 Sedan wants to copy, pay tribute or take over Mitsubishi Lancer’s seat in the compact sedan market, then S3 Sedan is a “Rosemeyer-style homage” to Lancer Evolutions.

While the A3 Sedan is developed for sedan-preferred global markets, the S3/RS3 Sedan is designed to rescue the dying compact sports sedan market.

(Keep in note, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions were sedan-only, this is why I never mention A3 hatchback models.)
